About

I'm an elementary school teacher in a small town in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm about to start my 10th year of teaching and I've had a variety of grade levels including: kindergarten, second, third, and fifth. I'm currently teaching fifth, which I absolutely love.

I grew up in Pleasanton, and I was lucky enough to get a job in the district after I graduated from Sonoma State University with my multiple subject credential. When I'm not teaching, I'm working on little projects around my new home, hanging out with friends, READING, going to concerts, binge-watching Netflix, or I'm thinking of new things to do in the classroom. In my district, 4th and 5th grade classrooms have up to 33 students, so I'm always looking for new ways to differentiate for all my students.

I'm a bit of a History nerd, it was my major in college, and I even thought about going into secondary education, but I knew that my heart lay with elementary age kids. I've never regretted that decision, but one of the reasons I love 5th grade is because I absolutely love teaching my students about the American colonies and the Revolutionary War.

This is my first foray into blogging and I'm very excited to join the blogging community. I love utilizing technology into the classroom and I'm recently completed my Masters in Education program with an emphasis in technology.

  1. Wow, you've taught it all! Fifth grade was always one of my favorites in elementary school.
